Nicki Minaj is coming back to the big screen. The rap star has landed a voice role in the upcoming animated film Angry Birds Movie 2.

What exact role Nicki will be playing is currently unknown, reports Variety. The sequel follows the first film, which was released in 2016. Part dos will be directed by Thurop Van Orman and co-directed by John Rice.

Actors Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Peter Dinklage will return for the second film. Others slated to be a part of the cast include Lil Rel Howery, Leslie Jones, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Dove Cameron and Zach Woods.

The first movie grossed over $352 million, which gave it the distinction of being the second highest grossing video-game based film of all time. The release of the second film will coincide with the 10th anniversary of the addictive app. The film will hit theaters Aug. 16, 2019.

Nicki Minaj is no stranger to doing voice work as she has lent her services to Ice Age: Continental Drift, The Cleveland Show and Cartoon Network's Stephen Universe. Acting wise, she's had roles in Barbershop: The Next Cut and The Other Woman.

In music-related news, Nicki recently announced she will be going on tour in February with Juice Wrld, who will replace Future for her European jaunt. Nicki previously postponed the North American leg of the tour, which is now slated to take place in spring of 2019.
