Kid Cudi is up to something, and though it's unclear what that "something" is, it does look epic. Yesterday (Dec. 2), the Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin' artist posted a mysterious video that introduces the world to the Asterisk Collective. He's not in the video, but he does recite what appears to be the group's mission statement while an animation of a multi-colored asterisk flashes and rotates.

"This is not the world we want," Cudi says in the video. "We’re rewriting the script because these rules don’t apply. We’ll be showing up with real people, in real places, in real ways. To inspire positive change. Bravery, courage, and action, uniting to showcase the power of creativity. Let’s create a better future together. We are the exception to the rule. We are the Asterisk Collective."

Cudi's puzzling visuals don't provide more of an explanation about what the Kids See Ghosts rapper has planned, but there's a chance it's some new music. Cudi fans can only hope.

Cudi's new teaser comes just a bit over a month after he told one fan he was working on a new LP. While he didn't elaborate too much on the subject, he did offer up a rough time period for the release.

"I just started the new album!" Cudi tweeted on Oct. 23. "Taking my time w it tho but im thinkin next year sometime? Would that be cool? Huh? Tell me? Would that be ok?"

Here's to hoping the Asterisk Collective and Cudi's new album are insanely dope. Check out Cudi's mysterious teaser for yourself below.
