Atlanta native Jacquees is facing backlash for calling himself the "King of R&B" on Instagram. After uploading the video, fans expressed their anger towards the "Trip" singer for claiming that title.

"I just want to let everybody know that I'm the king of R&B right now, for this generation," Jacquees said in the video. "I understand who done came and who done did that and that, but now it's my time. Jacquees the king of R&B, I just heard them said and I feel it. ATL, let's get it. I'm the new king of R&B."

Following the 24-year-old singer's video post, fans explained on Twitter that there are many other artists deserving of that title and referenced Chris Brown, Trey Songz and Tank, to name a few. On Sunday (Dec. 9), Tank, who has been in the music industry for over 20 years, shared a post on Instagram titled "Current Kings of R&B."

On Tank's list, he mentions himself, Usher, R. Kelly, Chris Brown and Trey Songz as the true kings. The post also explains that these artists gained the title based on vocal ability, sales, longevity, albums, relevancy and more.
