Cardi B Learns About Her Grammy Nominations While Leaving Court

Cardi B gets a huge surprise in what feels like the most unlikely of places. While leaving a courtroom for her assault case earlier today (Dec. 7), Bardi learned that she was nominated for five Grammy Awards. Her alert came from a crowd of reporters.

In a video she posted to Instagram today, Bardi is asked a question by paparazzi regarding her nominations. "Cardi, how does it feel to be nominated for that Grammy?" one of the reporters asks. "I am?" Cardi says with a huge smile as she learns the news for the first time.

"What a way to find out i got 5 Grammys nominations," Bardi wrote in her caption for the post. "I'm tellin you my life is a movie. I work my ass off for this! Win or not at least i know i had a chance and people was watching and admiring my work. Im Soo happy! THANK YOU!"

Earlier today, it was announced that the "Money" rapper is nominated for Album of the Year and Best Rap Album for her debut LP Invasion of Privacy. Her single "I Like It," which features J. Balvin and Bad Bunny, is nominated for Song of the Year. Cardi's other chart-topping single "Be Careful" is nominated for Best Rap Performance. Lastly, she's also nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for her feature on Maroon 5's "Girls Like You (Remix)." That's five nominations, folks.
