2016: Eight months removed from the unexpected death of Phife Dawg, A Tribe Called Quest come back for one last LP.

Executive-produced by the immortal Q-Tip, We Got It From Here...Thank You 4 Your Service is a modernized version of the funky, jazz-infused tracks that propelled the group to legendary status. Although the album's production is updated, ATCQ's socially conscious message remains the same, just applied to issues of the 2010s.

At the time of We Got It From Here's release, Donald Trump had just been elected president, and many called his platform a xenophobic one. ATCQ seemingly address President Trump on "We the People," a track that marked one of the first the crew recorded for their last LP.

"All you Black folks, you must go/All you Mexicans, you must go/And all you poor folks, you must go/Muslims and gays, boy, we hate your ways/So all you bad folks, you must go," Q-Tip raps on the hook for the track.

Elsewhere on the LP, ATCQ pay tribute to the past and present by collaborating with the likes of Andre 3000, Kendrick Lamar and Anderson .Paak. In more nostalgic tracks they link up with folks like Busta Rhymes and Consequence, two artists who collaborated with Tribe throughout the 1990s.

Upon its release, We Got It From Here... Thank You 4 Your Service debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. In June 2017, the album was certified gold.
