Congrats are in order for rapper Vince Staples. The rapper has landed his first leading role in the film, Punk, which is directed by Richard Hughes, who will be making his directional debut.

Punk is centered around the protagonist Peter, which will be played by Staples, who goes on a road trip with free-spirited people after receiving a disappointing rejection letter. While on the trip, Peter will learn that he doesn't know the people around him that well. He finds out he is on the road with a group of bank robbers and someone who is on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Braden Aftergood will produce the movie. Aftergood has previously produced movies such as 2012's Battleship and this year's Siberia. Kavanaugh-Jones worked on this year's Insidious: The Last Key.

This wouldn't be Vince's first time working on a movie. The Long Beach rapper has had his music featured in the film Creed with the track "Waiting For My Moment" and Black Panther. His music has also been featured in the series Atlanta.

Aside from his acting career, the MC has just wrapped up a tour with Childish Gambino. For the final leg of the tour, Vince and Gambino visited San Jose, Calif., Los Angeles, Phoenix, Ariz., Denver and Nashville.

Although no release date has been revealed, be on the lookout for Punk featuring Vince Staples on the big screen.
