6ix9ine Costs Concert Promoters $300,000 After Canceling Washington, D.C. Show

6ix9ine left fans hoping to see him at an unofficial event for Howard University's Homecoming event disappointed when he canceled his performance 35 minutes before he was set to hit Washington, D.C.'s Echostage last night (Oct. 28). This last minute cancelation has reportedly cost the concert promoters $300,000.

As first reported by TMZ, concert organizers were forced to turn away about 400 people who were waiting for the rainbow-haired rapper outside the venue for the show. Adding to their problems, the promoters had to issue refunds to over 3,000 people.

Promoters reportedly had every reason to think that Tekashi would be taking the stage for the show. The celebrity news site reports that Tekashi was paid $60,000 in advance for his scheduled performance. This is apparently the second time he's canceled a concert with these promoters.

While 6ix9ine didn't make this show, he did make time to hit the stage at Power 105.1's 2018 Powerhouse event alongside other acts including Juice Wrld, Cardi B, Lil Uzi Vert, SZA and Lil Duval. During that appearance, the rapper performed his 2017 single "Kooda," among other tracks like "Tati," "Stoopid," "Fefe" and "Gummo."

In other 6ix9ine-related news, two men have been arrested for the shooting of Tekashi's bodyguard. The shooting took place outside of New York City's restaurant, Philippe Chow on Friday night (Oct. 26). At the time, Tekashi was reportedly celebrating the fact that he'd just gotten sentenced to four years probation instead of any jail time for his sexual misconduct case. NYPD sources say it's unlikely the controversial rapper did anything wrong in this instance.
