Just a little over a month removed from pleading not guilty to first-degree murder for the killing of XXXTentacion, Dedrick Williams, the first suspect arrested in the rapper's death, is taking some serious measures for his defense.

According to The Blast, Williams, who appeared in surveillance footage inside Riva Motorsports where X was shopping before he was killed, has requested a judge's permission to hire a private investigator to look into whether or not prosecutors' evidence is enough to prove he took part in any crimes.

Apparently Williams' lawyer has found a P.I. that can work on his case, but the fee is $10,000 which is an amount the Florida resident doesn't have. Due to the rate, Williams needs to have the court authorize the fee.

In addition to a private investigator, Williams wants the court's permission to hire a cell phone forensics expert to get involved in this case. If you recall, police examined Williams' phone and recovered footage of the murder suspect dancing with $100 bills hours after X's killing. They also found that his phone's GPS indicated that he was in the Riva Motorsports minutes before the rapper was shot. Williams presumably wants the expert to evaluate that evidence.

Williams was the first of four men arrested for the killing of XXXTentacion, who was murdered on June 18. The other three men are Trayvon Newsome, Michael Boatwright and Robert Allen. Authorities believe Newsome and Boatwright to be the gunmen, and they they allege that Boatwright actually pulled the trigger. The Broward Sheriff's Office believes Williams was the getaway driver. All four men have pleaded not guilty.
