The case of Tay-K has taken another turn after an accomplice who was with him during a home invasion and shooting that left a young father dead entered a plea deal and agreed to testify against her three co-defendants, including Tay-K.

Prosecutors will now waive the capital murder charge against Ariana Bharrat, which allows the 22-year-old woman to plead guilty to aggravated robbery in exchange for a 25-year prison sentence, the Star-Telegram reported on Aug. 23.

Prosecutors had previously struck a similar deal with another suspect, Megan Holt. Like Bharrat, if Holt testifies truthfully against Tay-K and her co-defendants, which include Sean Robinson and Jalen Bell, she will be allowed to plead guilty to aggravated robbery in exchange for a 20-year prison sentence.

Tay-K, real name Taymore McIntyre, was one of the three juveniles and four adults arrested for a deadly home invasion in July 2016 in Mansfield, Texas. The young rapper became infamous when he and a second juvenile suspect cut off their ankle monitors and fled while awaiting their certification hearings. He then released the hit single "The Race" inspired by his experience of fleeing police.

While on the run, police also accused Tay-K of robbing, shooting and killing 23-year-old Mark Saldivar at a Chick-Fil-A in San Antonio, Texas. The Saldivar family later brought a wrongful death lawsuit against the rapper.

In related news, Tay-K was recently transferred from Tarrant County Jail in Texas to the maximum-security Lon Evans Corrections Center, where he is currently being held in solitary confinement. The move came after a sheriff's deputy discovered a cell phone and charger on Tay-K, which earned the rapper a third-degree felony charge of possessing a prohibited item inside a correctional facility.
