The title of "SoundCloud Rapper" gets thrown around a lot nowadays but according to Lil Pump, there are only a handful of artists who originated the SoundCloud style. The "Esskeetit" artist jumped on Instagram on Monday (Aug. 6) to make his claim.

"Deadass though, these are the rappers that started the whole SoundCloud shit: Me, X, Ski Mask, Purpp, Uzi, Yachty, I can keep going," the "Gucci Gang" rapper said, giving props to 2018 XXL Freshmen Ski Mask The Slump God and Smokepurpp, as well as former Freshmen Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty and the late XXXTentacion.

In a separate video, Pump says before him and the aforementioned rappers came out, no one was being labelled a SoundCloud rapper. ”Nobody was being called SoundCloud rappers until we came out. We made the whole SoundCloud wave go up," the Florida rhymer added.

Pump's comments didn't sit well with Uno The Activist, who caught wind of what the rapper said and respectfully disagreed. "I love pump but this is ALL CAP," Uno tweeted. "I started this SoundCloud shit with the likes of a few artist, it's not a competition when everybody eating but if it's facts to be said then *I nvr stood in line before*."

Denzel Curry most likely won't be a fan of the comments either, as the rapper has previously said SpaceGhostPurpp, RVIDXR KLVN and more were the originators. "Lil B, Gucci Mane, Chief Keef, A$AP [Mob], and RVIDXR KLVN started what everyone is doing today from 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and then on down," Curry said in May.

The Ta13oo artist's claim was in response to Smokepurpp, who had previously said he gave birth to the SoundCloud bang. “Happy Mother's Day to me man, Big Purpp. You know what's going on. I birthed this generation,” Purpp said in a video.
