After earning a spot in the coveted 2018 XXL Freshman Class, Wifisfuneral and J.I.D. are putting their musical chemistry in effect in the studio.

On Tuesday night (July 10), Wifi shared with his fans that he was eager to collaborate with the "Hereditary" lyricist via Twitter. "Someone tell @JIDsv that I'm tryna work with him!" he wrote enthusiastically. And it only took a few moments later for J.I.D to respond with "it's lit" and a menacing emoji to match.

Later that evening, the two burgeoning artists shared a brief clip of their studio session. "Hits coming soon, baby," Wifi says into the camera. And, from the sounds of the audible background noise he may just be right. While both MCs are known for their Southern flair, their individual approaches to a record could make for quite the collaboration.

Earlier this month, J.I.D got fans buzzing after he confirmed that he had completed the tracklist for his forthcoming project, DiCaprio 2. Serving as the follow-up to his 2015 effort, DiCaprio, which marked a pivotal moment in his career, the Atlanta rapper's agile flow is sure to be on full display.

As for Wifi, the South Florida spitter gifted fans with his Ethernet Vol. 1 mixtape early last month. The 12-track project features guest appearances from Jay Critch, YBN Nahmir, Uno The Activist, Key and Lil Skies. The tape is led by previously-released singles "25 Lighters," "Genesis," "Juveniles" and "Knots."

So, one can only imagine what both Wifisfuneral and J.I.D may sound like together on a track. Check out footage from their studio session below.
