Since being released from prison in January, Kevin Gates has only released three songs but that's all going to change soon when the rapper drops his Luca Brasi 3 mixtape.

Gates revealed the news on Instagram on Thursday (July 19), telling his fans that he's been hard at work in the studio. "I been workin' my ass off. I think I probably did like, what, five songs," he said. The rapper then went on to break the big news, saying, "I'm 'bout to drop Luca Brasi 3... I'm really scared, but I got so much music... Just gon' flood the streets. Fuck it."

The Louisiana artist also shared some previews of his new music. Rapping over a piano-driven beat, Gates can be heard spitting, "When Bump J got released from the tank, I was going through a bid for the state."

Luca Brasi 3 will serve as the sequel to Gates' 2014 mixtape, Luca Brasi 2. The mixtape features one of Gates' most popular songs, "I Don't Get Tired," featuring August Alsina. The upcoming offering will also be Gates' first new music since the release of the three-track Chained to the City project in May.

Along with slowly getting back to dropping new music, Gates has been in no rush to get back on the stage. The rapper performed his first live show since being released from jail in June but admitted he was nervous to hit the stage.

"I ain't gon' lie, I'm nervous," Gates said before his show. "You can train super hard, but when you get in that ring, it's different. When you in the ring and you see all them people down there, you can become so overwhelmed with what's going on."
