Drake's newly-released album Scorpion drops next week on CD, according to a pre-order listing on Amazon. The physicals are scheduled to be released on July 13 and will cost fans $18 per double-disc.

Drizzy abandoned physical media in 2017 by distributing More Life exclusively on digital platforms, so the news comes as a pleasant surprise. That project debuted at No. 1, prompting speculation that the boy would ditch physicals for good. He could certainly afford the change. With his latest drop, the "God's Plan" rapper proves to be an unprecedented streaming juggernaut.

Scorpion, upon its release on Friday (June 29), smashed Apple Music's single-day album streaming record, likely setting up Drake for another No. 1 debut. That same day, 36 of his songs reached platinum status, and 19 achieved new multi-platinum levels, including tracks as old as 2010's "Miss Me," which topped one million units for the first time.

It's an impressive performance for an MC who entered the final stretch of his album cycle as the butt of Pusha-T's joke. The beef ended before Scorpion's release, although Drake uses his album to respond to the Clipse rapper's various claims, including addressing his once-secret son and his father's alleged Steve Harvey suits.

It's unclear whether Scorpion will hit formats other than compact disc. On his birthday in 2016, Drake unleashed vinyl versions of Views, What A Time To Be Alive and If You're Reading This It's Too Late, so there's reason to be optimistic. We'll keep you updated.
