Well, that escalated quickly. Over the past few days, the issues between Kanye West and his Donda's House Inc. non-profit organization, co-founded by Rhymefest, have bubbled to the surface. Now, it appears the organization is further distancing itself from Yeezy by changing its name.

The public became aware of the issues on Friday (May 25), when the organization offered a statement on how Kanye's recent controversies have caused issues within DH. "Over the last few months due to Kanye’s statements and tweets, we have fielded requests for interviews and statements," part of the statement reads. "We have been tagged in comments on social media about Kanye West, and we have been questioned by our foundational supporters and corporate supporters about Kanye’s public involvement in our organization. While we cannot and do not speak for Kanye West and his views, we can and will speak up for the youth that we serve. We ask that those who feel hurt, angered by or frustrated with Kanye West not penalize or throw away their support, respect and advocacy for us."

On Saturday (May 26), Rhymefest accused Kanye of turning his back on the youth of Chicago and refusing to assist with rebuilding the Donda's House building, which is in need of repair. 'Ye's wife Kim Kardashian chimed in addressing the issue on Twitter, threatening to take the organization from 'Fest, causing even more of a public spectacle.

With all the bad PR, the organization released a statement late last night saying it would change its name, and possibly forward the Donda's House brand over to the Wests.

"Due to the recent events that have occurred over the last 48 hours, we have decided to no longer use the name Donda's House Inc.," the statement starts. "This has been a incredibly difficult decision but the social media quotes from Kim Kardashian West as well as the expressed interest of her family running the organization, has brought us to this decision. Over the last five years we have put our students and our community first. We'd like to thank all of our supporters and we assure you that our hearts have always been with the city of Chicago and we will continue to support youth in our future endeavors. We encourage Kim and Kanye to indeed pick up the baton of service. We will reach out to all partners in the coming weeks regarding next steps."

Kanye West, Rhymefest and Donnie Smith started Donda's House Inc. in 2011 to honor 'Ye's late mother and help serve the youth of Chicago through education in arts, culture and entertainment. Kanye has yet to respond to Rhymefest's claims on social media.
