Cardi B and Nicki Minaj ran into each other for a highly anticipated moment at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7). There seemed to be no ill will toward each other after much back and forth in previous interviews. Bardi joined The Howard Stern Show for a discussion on Wednesday (May 9) and she went on to explain the "misunderstanding" that had to be cleared up between the two prominent artists.

“I never was feuding with anybody. There was a misunderstanding. She felt a certain type of way about something and I definitely felt a certain type of way about something. Didn’t want to ever talk about it in public because I felt like we gonna see each other again and we will talk about it," the Bronx native quipped. "It’s always little issues but the thing is, fans are always gonna make it a big thing. I spoke to her about it. It’s just like, see? It was just something that it had to be talked about."

The 25-year-old sat down with Ebro Darden on Beats 1 for an interview prior to her debut album Invasion of Privacy in April. When the subject of a potential Nicki beef came up she quickly denounced the tension as "internet made-up." "I already said she’s an amazing artist, paid my respect to her, I did videos before jamming to her songs," she continued. "What do people expect? Y’all want me to say something bad. I’m not falling for that."

Just a week later when Minaj was gearing up to drop her pair of singles in "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz" she took some time during her chat with Zane Lowe to address what comments from Cardi "hurt her."

“The first interview she did after ‘MotorSport’ came out, it just really hurt me. She looked so aggravated and angry. The only thing she kept saying was, ‘I didn’t hear that verse. She changed her verse.’ I was like, ‘What?’ When I came back on Instagram, I saw [Cardi's recent interview] and I finally felt like she said something genuinely nice about me. But [with] ‘MotorSport' I kind of felt ambushed.”

The Queens rapper took aim at exposing the "Bodak Yellow" artist on Twitter the same night. "How can you say someone changed their verse & forget to say Quavo told me to remove my singing part (which I loved) and Atlantic told me to remove your name from my verse per your request? So how were those changes gonna happen if I didn’t 'change' my verse," she wrote.

It's good to see the two have buried the hatchet in person—maybe we'll see some future collabs from them moving forward. Check out Cardi B's comments regarding Nicki on The Howard Stern Show below.
