Kanye West's controversial comments about slavery have sent his fans and followers into a frenzy. But while some have decided to unfollow the rapper, he still has Adidas on his side.

During a recent interview with Bloomberg, Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted said the company won't be commenting or speculating on what Kanye said. "Kanye has been and is a very important part of our strategy and has been a fantastic creator," Rorsted continued. "And that's where I'm gonna leave it. I'm not gonna comment on every comment that he or somebody else are making."

As for dropping 'Ye from the brand, Rorsted said Adidas hasn't discussed parting ways but says they will speak with Yeezy in the future. "I have not had any conversation with Kanye in the last 24 hours," he added. "We're a sports company—We wanna change people's lives through sport... We will have conversations."

In late-April, the rapper tweeted about his current relationship with Adidas, claiming the Yeezy 700 sneaker is Adidas' most requested shoe and said the company "have been great partners and they've let Yeezy be Yeezy. This could've never happened at Nike."

Kanye made his controversial comments about slavery on Tuesday (May 1), when he stopped by TMZ Live. While there, the "Ye vs. the People" rapper claimed slavery was a choice. "When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years?! That sounds like a choice," he said. "Like, you was there for 400 years and it was all of y'all?"

Later in the day, Yeezy hopped on Twitter to clarify what he was trying to say. According to The Life of Pablo artist, he knows slavery wasn't a choice but the point he was trying to make was that "for us to have stayed in that position even though the numbers were on our side means that we were mentally enslaved."
