It's been nearly two years since Nas teamed up with DJ Khaled for the song "Nas Album Done" off of Khaled's Major Key album, but it now appears Nas' project finally has a release date.

On Sunday (April 22), while Kanye West was tweeting about the release dates for his and other G.O.O.D. Music artist's project, he revealed big news about the New York rapper's upcoming album. "Nas June 15th," Yeezy tweeted. The Life of Pablo artist also claimed to have had a hand in producing the upcoming project, writing, "I'm hand producing all the albums I tweeted about."

Kanye's tweet is the first news we've heard about a Nas album since May 2017. At the time, Jungle, the brother of Nas, posted a photo of himself in the studio with Esco and wrote in the caption, "@nas Studio.. #NasAlbumAlmostDone #HipHop #QueensBridge #NYC."

Before that, Nas told Billboard his 12th studio album was "for sure" coming in 2017 and said the song "Nas Album Done" wasn't necessarily a true update about the project's status. "It’s not done till it hits the streets," the rapper said. "We might do a single but we might do something different."

Whenever Nas' next album does release, it will serve as a follow-up to his 11th studio album, Life Is Good. Released in 2012, the highly personal album came two years after his divorce from singer Kelis and received widespread acclaim for its classic sound and thoughtful lyrics.
