Lil Skies' career continues to grow at a rapid pace, as he has signed a worldwide publishing deal with Sony/ATV. The Pennsylvania rapper and the major label announced the new deal today (April 4), which comes after the recent success of his Life of a Dark Rose mixtape.

Ian Holder, who is Sony/ATV's Vice President of Creative issued a statement about the new publishing deal with the "Lust" spitter, labeling him as "special."

“Skies is special. As much as we love what he’s doing right now, I believe he’s only scratching the surface," he says. "I think when we are able to look at his body of work years from now, we’ll find an artist who continues to evolve.”

The 19-year-old entertainer also released a response to the major contract, calling the move "life-changing."

“Signing with Sony/ATV was life changing for me," Skies states. "We are about to make history.”

In January, Lil Skies' Life of a Dark Rose project hit the top 10 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The rapper also made his Billboard Hot 100 debut with his songs "Nowadays" and "Red Roses" that same month.

It's been a breakout few months for Skies already after the release of his latest tape, but he recently hit a bump after he canceled the rest of his tour dates that supported his recent project due to some health issues. Fans who bought tickets for shows in Atlanta, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Memphis and Baltimore were impacted by the cancellation.

Congratulations to Lil Skies on his new deal with Sony/ATV.
