Kyle Shares Release Date for Debut Album ‘Light of Mine’

Mere weeks after news broke that Kyle will be joining Logic and NF on The Bobby Tarantino Vs. Everybody Tour, the 2017 XXL Freshman has announced his highly-anticipated major label debut album is dropping in less than a month’s time.

The "To the Moon" rapper is preparing to deliver Light of Mine on May 18. Kyle’s first major label album, backed by Indie-Pop and Atlantic Records, appears to coincide with his 25th birthday. This morning (April 19) he rallied up his fans with the tweet “attention please,” which was followed by the cover art for the multi-platinum artist’s forthcoming LP. Kyle has previously released a number of projects such as Smyle and Beautiful Loser, but his newest effort will be his first since signing to Atlantic.

Shortly after his tweet, Kyle jumped on Instagram to thank his fans for their ongoing support. "I'm so happy to finally have announced my album. It's been so hard to keep you all waiting on this," he wrote. "I've spent the last two years working on this to make it something of true value that will last you a lifetime, and carry you through your toughest times, and elevate your brightest moments."

The announcement comes days after Kyle's stellar performance at Week One of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Chance The Rapper joined him on stage for their collaborative effort "Wanna Be Cool," with Chano helping him close out his set with "iSpy."

Aside from the biggest music festival of the year, Kyle is also set to hit the stage at Electric Forest towards the end of June into July. Lil Dicky and Devin The Dude appear on the bill as well, merging hip-hop with other artists at the multi-genre event.
