Kodak Black may have recently been sentenced to one year in jail, but the rapper is taking the news in stride. On Tuesday (April 17), the Florida artist hopped on Instagram and shared a heartfelt message about his return to prison, which he called a blessing.

"I want to thank the lord for this blessing in disguise which was sending me back to jail January 18 2018," Kodak wrote, referencing his January arrest. "Second I want to thank the lord again for using my advocate Bradford Cohen ( @lawronin ) as an instrument to speak through him and work diligently on my behalf."

The Heartbreak Kodak rapper continued to praise his lawyer, adding, "I would also like to thank Brad for seeing me as more than a client and for looking out for me as one of his family members."

But it was Kodak's closing comments that showed how much the rapper has changed. To end his post, Kodak thanked the judge and prosecutor for giving him a fair trial. "Last but not least I would like to thank the judge Michael Lynch and the prosecutor Michelle Boutros for giving me a fair deliberation and not over looking me and judging as the media and the nay sayers set me out to be," he wrote.

Kodak received his latest sentencing on Tuesday but was given the opportunity to be released early on good behavior. While the rapper was sentenced to 364 days in prison, he has already served 90 days and could be out as early as October.

The majority of the rapper's charges were also dropped, with only possession of a weapon by a felon and possession of cannabis left, which he pleaded not guilty to.
