Looks like Kendrick Lamar is securing his finances with some major purchases.

According to TMZ, the "Dedication" lyricist has just bought a home in Calabasas, Calif., and as you might guess, it's fitting for a rapper of his stature. The six-bedroom, six-bathroom spans over 5,400 square feet and comes with a built-in pool, home gym and double-sided fireplaces.

Apparently K. Dot only purchased the mansion for investment purposes, and will not actually reside in the city that's become home to artists like Kanye West, who actually named a pair of shoes after the prestigious area.

If Kung Fu Kenny wasn't living the life before, he's certainly enjoying the fruits of his labor in 2018. The Black Panther soundtrack—which he curated—debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, with the album's lead visuals, "All the Stars" and "King's Dead," surpassing a collective 140 million views on YouTube.

If that's not enough, Mr. Big Shot has been taking nothing but W's in the awards circuit. On March 24, he took home International Album of the Year for DAMN. at the 2018 Juno Awards, and a few weeks before that performed "New Freezer" with Rich The Kid at the 2018 BRIT Awards. The song is now certified platinum.

It's safe to say Kendrick has made quite the impact in hip-hop during the course of his career. Be sure to read about it all in the forthcoming cultural biography The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America by author Marcus J. Moore.
