Meek Mill is finally a free man after being released from prison on Tuesday (April 24). While he's now receiving love from many people, during his time behind bars one person who showed a ton of support for the Philadelphia artist was Jay-Z. Now, the 4:44 rapper is celebrating Meek's release and made sure to thank everyone who fought for him to be freed.

"Today, Meek Mill, son of Philadelphia, is a free man," Jay-Z's statement begins. "He was incarcerated unjustly and caught in a probation trap for years by a broken system. Now we can celebrate his release. We thank every individual that has supported and fought alongside Meek every step of the way."

Along with the message from Hov, Roc Nation also showed its support for Meek, sharing its own statement. “We are pleased with the Supreme Court’s decision to grant Meek Mill bail and allow him to return home to his loved ones," the statement reads. "We are grateful for all the support that Meek has received from his fans and public advocates over the past five months and look forward to working alongside Meek to fight for criminal justice reform.”

Since Meek's original sentencing in November, Jay-Z has been of the rapper's most vocal supporters, showing love to him during a concert in Philadelphia and even going as far as penning an op-ed piece for The New York Times about the Wins & Losses rapper's unjust prison sentence.

"What’s happening to Meek Mill is just one example of how our criminal justice system entraps and harasses hundreds of thousands of black people every day," Jay wrote in the piece.

While the Philly MC is now free, his legal troubles aren't over yet. Meek will have to return to court in about three months for a hearing that will determine the possibility of overturning his conviction.
