The ever-expansive world of cryptocurrency continues to have an influence in the hip-hop community.

In the latest development, it's been announced that the estate of Ol Dirty Bastard is teaming with Link Media Partners to launch Dirty Coin, and ODB-branded form of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology-based products for the estate's future musical projects, specifically, those involving ODB's rapper son Young Dirty.

The ODB token is also set to go live on the TAO Network [Symbol: XTO] and be traded on AltMarket, which is Link Media Partners' exclusive cryptocurrency partner.

“Music thrives creatively and financially when it’s in the hands of the artist themselves," said AltMarket CEO, Bryce Weiner. "By removing the price tag of experimentation, we’re able to deliver for both the artist and their fans."

Soon, fans will be able to use the Dirty Coin to get access to shows, tours, exclusive merchandise from both the estate of ODB and his son, who supports Bitcoin wholeheartedly.

"Bitcoin is the future of money and all the fans want a part of the future of Ol' Dirty Bastard. In the past, Dad's music was ahead of its time, so it makes sense that he would be ahead of the technology of money now,” Young Dirty said in a statement.

The folks at Link Media Partners plan to help Young Dirty's music career by giving him the "infrastructure" needed to succeed without the help of a record label. His new projects will be announced this summer, and the release plans surrounding his debut album will be among the revelations. Keep an eye out for that.
