Hip-hop stops for no one. The news cycle goes round and round and round, 24/7, 365 days, times two. And as XXL takes care to document the culture and all of its dope or dumbfounding haps, we tend to take a objective stance in our reporting of the news.

But through all of the good, bad and ugly that goes down in hip-hop, we needed a platform to provide some insight and context. Or sound off with some personal hot takes. Like, Flamin'-Hot-Cheetos-hot takes. And thus a new podcast was born. Introducing: Hip-Hop Moments of Clarity.

Hip-Hop Moments of Clarity will feature a revolving cast of XXL staffers made up of Editor-in-Chief Vanessa Satten, Executive Editor John Kennedy (a.k.a JFK) and Associate Editor Roger Krastz. The staff will go back and forth with Triangle Offense Management founder Wayne "Wayno" Clark and podcast engineer Jabari Golding. And on it, we'll cover all of the interesting ins and outs of rap, from gossip to evaluating music releases to who fell off and who's killing it at the moment.

For this inaugural episode of XXL's Hip-Hop Moments of Clarity, we touch on Kanye West's mysterious return to Instagram, whether Lonzo Ball can rap, Troy Ave's legal troubles (and questionable takes on snitching) and Nicki Minaj's impending comeback.
