Heartbreaking news for The Game. On Wednesday morning (Jan. 17), the rapper's father, George Taylor, passed away. He was 65 years old.

According to a report from TMZ, Taylor died unexpectedly in his sleep and was found by a family member in his Apple Valley, Calif. home. The family member alerted a neighbor who called 911 but when the fire department arrived at 8:30 a.m., Taylor was unresponsive. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The site reports that at this point, foul play isn't suspected and the coroner's office currently has Taylor's body.

While the status of what Game and his father's relationship recently was, the two have had an on and off relationship. The Game previously rapped about his father on the song "Bloody Moon," rapping, "My father left me when I was seven, at a home/Left me but took his chrome, I looked up and blood was gone/Man, fuck it, guess in the world I'm all alone."

In related Game news, the rapper recently showed his support for Lavar Ball and the Ball family, defending the father's decision to pull his son LiAngelo Ball out of UCLA. "You know, I learned a long time ago not to tell nobody what to do with their kids, man," the rapper said. "It's his kid, you know?"

The Game added, "He doing what he doing, man, but I'm pretty sure whatever decision he made was in the best interest of his child."

The rapper has yet to publicly comment on his father's death.
