Update:

XXL has learned that Don Q's manager Quincy Acheampong was arrested as well. According to the New York State Court System, Acheaampong was arrested in the Bronx on Thurs., Nov. 30. The charges aren't specified, but his next court date is set for Feb. 5, 2018 at Bronx Criminal Court.

Original Story:

Don Q recently found himself in just a little bit of trouble with the law, but apparently he's out of it—for now.

According to the folks at TMZ, the Bronx-based rapper, born LeQuincy Anderson, was arrested for felony possession of a .22 caliber Beretta and a bag of marijuana last Thursday (Nov. 30). The site's sources report that police found the bag of weed in his underwear during a strip search after they pulled him over for a traffic stop. Q's lawyer says the police had no reason to stop Q and search him and his friends.

Q's now been released from jail without bail, and his Highbridge The Label comrade A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie was there in court when he was arraigned. Q's out of the woods for now, but his next court date for this incident is in February.

While it's never fun to head to court, it doesn't feel like this bit of legal trouble is too serious. That's good, because he's been making some serious moves over the last year or so, and, naturally, jail time can be the quickest way to slow anyone's momentum.

Speaking with XXL for The Break back in March, Q revealed that his plans were even bigger than music. "I just want to be the best," he said at the time. "But I don’t want to rap for the rest of my life; we’re trying to find other things within the next 10 years to be focused on -- movies, clothing lines, liquor, all kind of things. I want to be the next Jay-Z."

Be on the lookout for more details about this situation.
