On Wednesday night (Nov. 15), Lil Peep died unexpectedly at the age of 21. Known for his blending of hip-hop and emo-stylings, the rapper was on his way to big things at the time of his death, and had just released his debut album, titled Come Over When You're Sober, Part One, a few months beforehand.

In the hours following Long Island, N.Y. native's tragic passing, artists from all corners of the rap world have offered their condolences. In his own Twitter tribute, Lil Pump kept things simple. "R.I.P. LIL PEEP," he wrote, echoing the feelings of rappers and fans alike. Juicy J tweeted out the same message.

Taking the message especially hard was  Riff RaFF, who revealed that he'd just seen Peep a little while ago. "iM DiSGUSTED WiTH LiFE MY FRiENDS ARE SAYiNG LiL PEEP DiED i DONT WANT TO BELiEVE it he had such a bright future omg I just saw him we just we freestyling in my hotel and he said we should get matching tattoos so I did he was fearless and unfazed omg I don’t like this idk," he wrote in an emotional tweet.

Lil Peep hadn't been on the scene for too long at the time of his passing, but it's clear he left a big impression on rappers and fans alike. Speaking with XXL for The Break last spring, Peep explained his goals for the rap game, and most of them involved reaching other people through music.

"I want people to hear what I have to say and I want to be able to get a lot of points across," he said at the time. "I want to change the game right now in a lot of positive ways, positive changes it needs to see in order to grow."
