The Las Vegas gunman who opened fire on an unsuspecting crowd this past weekend, killing at least 50 and injuring over 500 people, might have planned to target a different festival the week prior. According to The Daily Beast, a senior law enforcement source claims Stephen Paddock reportedly rented multiple condos at the Ogden, which overlooked the Life Is Beautiful festival in Las Vegas that was headlined by Chance The Rapper and Lorde.

The outlet reports the law enforcement source is not involved in the investigation behind the shooting that took place at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, but was informed of Paddock's condo rentals. The Ogden is a 21-story luxury condominium tower which overlooked the concert grounds leading to the stage with Chance, Wiz Khalifa and other acts on the lineup. Sources believe Paddock may have "lost his nerve" or changed his plans during the time of the festival, and planned a different shooting for the following weekend.

If you recall, Paddock was found dead in his Mandalay Bay Hotel room following the shooting at the Route 91 Harvest festival, with authorities recovering 23 weapons from his suite, including several rifles capable of automatic fire. Law enforcement also later discovered 19 firearms with thousands of rounds of ammunition and an explosive at his home in Mesquite, Nev.

The mass shooting has caused a conflict surrounding the NRA, which Chuck D spoke out about earlier this week. He called the NRA a "terrorist organization" and pointed the finger at the Trump administration for failing to label it as such.

So far, Chance has not yet responded to the alleged reports, but we are keeping the victims of the Las Vegas shooting in our prayers.
