It looks like we might not be getting Cardi B's debut album next month. The Bronx rapper was recently a guest on Power 105's The Breakfast Club, where she expressed doubts about having the project done in time for the previously slated October release date.

“I wanted to drop next month,” she explained, when prompted about the release date. According to the rapper, she's been trying to best the success of "Bodak Yellow" and it's been tough. “Every single time I think I got all the 10 songs I’m like, I’m buggin. These ain’t it. It’s just like, damn I’m competing with myself. I’m competing with the goddamn No. 2 record [on the Billboard Hot 100] and stuff.”

A couple weeks ago, she seemed confident that October would be her time to properly introduce herself to the world. “Let me remind y’all I’m dropping my album [in] October, bye,” she said, following her performance at the Made in America Festival in Philadelphia. She later doubled down during an interview with the Associated Press. “I have an album coming. It will be dropping in October," she said. "I’m an October baby, yes… I’m a little nervous to put the project out, but I think it’s going to do pretty good.”

However, in her talks with The Breakfast Club, Cardi did imply that she will be dropping something for fans next month. “Y’all know I just put the song [‘Bodak Yellow'] out three months ago,” she said. “Can I work the record? I got something, but can I just put it out when this record just came out? I got something for y’all. I’m gonna drop something in October.”

Of course, Cardi couldn't get out of the building without being asked about the perceived beef with Nicki Minaj. According to Cardi, all is good. “We just conversated, man. That’s it,” she said when pressed on the issue.

She also touched on her relationship with Offset, her BET Awards nominations, her collab with Remy Ma and more.
