Back in July, North Carolina producer 9th Wonder, known for his soulful chops, surprised rap fans everywhere when he hopped on Twitter and praised Peewee Longway for rapping his ass off. "I don't think y'all ready to hear Peewee over some chopped up Earth Wind and Fire," tweeted the super-producer," teasing a possible collab before later deleting the tweets.

It's not the first time Peewee's gotten praise from an unexpected side of hip-hop. Last year, LL Cool J, the poster boy of golden era rap, said he was a fan of the Atlanta MC. "I just came along some of [Peewee's] music and I felt like I was hanging out with him," LL explained. "When you watch his videos, you feel like you’re there. I just liked it. He’s a cool artist.”

Peewee Longway's new mixtape Blue M&M 3 drops on Thursday (Aug. 17), and it features production from prominent trap producers like C4, Dun Deal, DY of 808 Mafia and more. But following the 9th Wonder tweet, Peewee's team tells XXL that Longway and 9th are actually scheduled to get in the studio together as early as this week. In fact, ever since 9th sang Longway's praises, the Atlanta MC has gotten beats sent to him from Pete Rock and Psycho Les as well. (When reached for comment, Pete Rock said, "If he has beats of mine, he didn't get it from me.") Longway's team even says he was contacted by Mannie Fresh to work on some music.

Blue M&M 3 features familiar faces like Quavo and Offset, but there's also a surprise guest on the tape in PartyNextDoor. Peewee says he heard PND was a fan of his new song "Stepped On" and after getting in contact with each other, they made "three or four" records together. Only one song made the new tape, though.

And Peewee's got more music on the way. He's working on Longway Sinatra 2 with Cassius Jay, as well as a mixtape with Lil Mister called Longway Mister and another project called State of the Art. Plus, he's supposed to be going on tour with YoungBoy Never Broke Again soon. Maybe after that, we can get a tape with production from 9th, Pete, Les and Mannie.
