And just like that, the nominees for the 2017 Mercury Prize have been revealed, and Stormzy and J Hus have both found themselves on the list. Other nominees include Ed Sheeran, Sampha, Glass Animals, The Big Moon, Blossoms, Dinosaur, Alt-j, Loyle Carner and The xx.

Stormzy's being nominated for his latest album, Gang Signs & Prayerwhile J Hus is nominated for Common Sense. If either of them take home the trophy, they'll follow in Skepta's footsteps as a rapper who's taken home the award.

Last year, Skepta, who's been blowing up for years now, faced some stiff competition in winning the 2016 Mercury Prize, with his Konnichiwa album beating out Laura Mvula’s The Dreaming Room, Radiohead’s A Moon Shaped Pool, David Bowie’s Blackstar, Michael Kiwanuka’s Love & Hate and 1975’s I Like It When You Sleep, for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It.
