Rae Sremmurd's jumping from the stage to the world of comic books. On Monday (July 17), the folks at Billboard revealed that Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi are teaming with famed comic book publisher Valiant to produce a comic project called Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1. See an image from the new comic book series below.

The new series, which will be written by Eliot Rahal, will see Slim and Lee head to New Orleans to take on the eponymous hero, Shadowman. In the comics, Shadowman has been imbued with superhuman strength, night vision, an amazing healing ability and voodoo powers. Sounds like the fictionalized version of Rae Sremmurd will have their work cut out for them.

For Slim, who's a lifelong comic book fan, working with Valiant represents the fulfilment of a dream. “Comic books are a form of entertainment. I get to make all the sounds and effects in my head. It’s just like you use your imagination—you go through the pictures and the pictures are always awesome. It’s like an escape from reality,” the rapper told Billboard in a statement.

Apparently, Slim's been following the exploits of Shadowman for a while now. “Shadowman is crazy,” he says. “It has a lot of twists and turns. It keeps me involved and interested. I can’t even take my eyes off of Shadowman when I read it. I have to finish the book.”

Renato Guedes will be handling the artwork for Shadowman/Rae Sremmurd #1, which is expected to drop in October. Hopefully SremmLife 3, which the duo says is dropping very soon, will reaches us before then.
