Although all of his major label LPs have gone platinum, Kendrick Lamar's not necessarily thought of as a crossover superstar. That won't be the case much longer, though. On Thursday (July 6), Forbes revealed K. Dot's newest album DAMN. is the highest-selling album of 2017 so far.

According to the site, K. Dot's newest project has moved an astonishing 1.77 million album equivalent units—a measurement that takes into account physical album sales and streams from music streaming services—since it was released back in April. It hasn't even been out for three full months yet.

DAMN. is an album filled to the brim with diverse production, dynamic flows and hard-hitting lyrics from K. Dot . With its visceral, emotional songs, it's no wonder it's sold so damn much. Can't say we're too surprised, but moving close to two million copies in three months is a huge deal. Salute to King Kendrick.

Second on the list is Ed Sheeran's ÷ (pronounced Divide), which has moved only 30,000 units less than DAMN. Bruno Mars' 24k Magic lands at No. 4. For rest of the world of rap, Drake (More Life) and Migos (Culture) check in at third and fifth respectively. K. Dot, Drizzy and the rap trio from Atlanta are the only rappers to drop platinum-selling projects in 2017 Well, besides Hov of course.
