Lil Uzi Vert’s “XO Tour Llif3” Goes Platinum

As of June 29, Uzi's "XO Tour Llif3" is now officially double platinum, according to the RIAA.

Lil Uzi Vert's latest hit, “XO Tour Llif3,” has reached platinum status.

Uzi has been enjoying a successful year, despite having yet to release his highly-anticipated project Luv Is Rage 2. With the recent announcement of the single's milestone from Atlantic Records, the song joins "Money Longer" and "You Was Right" as the Philly rapper's tracks to earn a platinum plaque. He is also on the platinum Migos single, "Bad and Boujee."

And just to think, it all started on a Beats Pill. XXL talked with the producer of  "XO Tour Llif3," TM88, last month and he revealed he had to make do with what he had to put together the hit. “I had my old computers in Atlanta, and I couldn’t use the speakers because I didn’t have the hook ups,” he said. “And I wanted to make beats so bad, I had a lot in me, I had a lot going on in my head, so I grabbed the Pill, sat down and cooked like a 20 pack. Sent Uzi like 10 or 12 of ‘em, and… ‘XO Tour Llif3.'”

Since its release, the track has become one of LUV's most popular songs and even inspired a 2Pac mashup that went viral.
