For most rappers, the announcement of fatherhood arrives in the form of an enthusiastic Instagram post or an invasive tabloid story. For Lil Uzi Vert, it came in a condesecending tweet directed at his perceived imitators in the rap game—on Father's Day.

This past Sunday (June 18), the ascendant Philadelphia artist used his Twitter account to wish himself a happy Father's Day, telling his "sons" he's happy to be a "father" to them. He deleted the incendiary tweet a short time later.

"All my sons in this rap game I'm proud tobe ya Dad, #Happymyday #FathersDay...I have a lot more to teach you," Uzi wrote.

Considering the way rap trends tend to collapse upon each other in short periods of time, getting to the bottom of who, exactly, Uzi's referring to is probably an impossible task. Still, it seems clear he's talking to someone. Maybe he'll elaborate later.

For now, Uzi's probably more concerned with continuing to build his momentum in what's been a wildly successful last 12 months. A few weeks ago, his single “XO Tour Llif3" was officially certified platinum. Now, fans just have to wait for the release of his LUV is Rage 2 project, which doesn't yet have a release date.
