LeBron James Loves Jay-Z’s New Album ‘4:44’

The relationship between sports and music has been a tight one. Some even believe that rappers want to be athletes and athletes want to be rappers. Whether that's true or not with JAY-Z and LeBron James may be uncertain, but we do know the mutual respect is definitely strong. On the release day of JAY-Z's 4:44, LeBron James sent a positive review of the album on Twitter, from one king to another.

While many NBA players have ties to the rap game, few are as integrated into the fold as Lebron James. Specifically with Jay, LeBron has had a visible, ongoing friendship. LeBron was featured in Jay's "DOA" video and Jay presented LeBron with the Sportsperson of the Year Award at the 2016 Sports Illustrated Awards. In a more indirect and recent example, JAY-Z also praised Tee Grizzley's "First Day Out" as the best song out, while LeBron's video of himself in the gym with the same song playing in the background has gone viral.

Today, LeBron sends a direct compliment towards JAY-Z by calling the new album "testimony." He also mentions that JAY-Z continues to give "game and blueprint" for "damn near free!" He also later spotted Kendrick's admiration for the album and expressed his respect for K. Dot as well.

If LeBron listens to 4:44 enough, he might be inspired to record some new music of his own. Earlier this month, fans first heard a rap song that LeBron and Kevin Durant recorded in 2011 during the NBA lockout.
