Today (June 18), is O.T. Genasis' birthday. The rapper turns 31.

Though he had been releasing music for years—notably being signed to G-Unit Records in 2011—the world was really introduced to O.T. Genasis after he signed to Busta Rhymes' The Conglomerate in 2014.

That same year, O.T. Genasis prevailed by flexing this trap bars on the collectives' Catastrophic 2 mixtape, standing out on nine group tracks, and unforgettably appearing on one of the BET Hip-Hop Awards cyphers. The rapper is now widely known for his charismatic personality and energetic performances, particularly those with label head Busta Rhymes.

The Long Beach, Calif. native continued building his momentum in September 2015, with "Cut It," his second hit featuring Memphis rapper Young Dolph. The melodic, dance-along trap banger spawned a slew of remixes and freestyles well into the better half of 2016—including one from Lil Wayne and T.I.—as he immediately followed up with his third smash "Push It." Closing out the year, O.T. released Coke N Butter, a 12-track mixtape featuring the likes of Quavo, Remy Ma, T.I., 2 Chainz and Y.G.

The viral track "Cut It" got him his first platinum plaque. Speaking on the famous, catchy song at one point, O.T. admitted “It was a problem for me because when I did the record it was so big here and overseas and it happened at the same time. So I was actually scared. I was scared to lose."

In 2017, O.T. kept his focus more on his music and business. Last February, the performer became one of eight rappers to appear as a hologram when he was offered $20,000 for a handful of shows. Taking his talents across the country as he drops new music videos left and right, Genasis is clearly crip-walking to the bank.

So far, 2018 has seen the blessings continue to roll in for O.T. During her set at the 2018 Coachella, the incomparable Beyonce made it a point to dance to his hit single, "Everybody Mad." Speaking with XXL, Genasis recalled the moment he learned of the Queen Bey's nod.

"I found out while I was on the road, I just got through doing a show," he explained at the time. "I saw it on Instagram and I was like, 'What the hell?!' It was lit... It was an amazing performance. The band putting the little twist on it, I thought it was dope."

Here's to more dope moments throughout the rest of the year.

Happy Birthday O.T.!
