On Wednesday (May 4), the Chicago Tribune published the official plans for Barack Obama's Presidential Center—grounds housing a museum and other buildings. In the report, we learned the facility will also include a recording studio. Apparently, Obama imagines Chance The Rapper will pull up.

Shortly after the story about the Obama's new presidential center was published, CNN reported that Obama said his studio would be a place where someone could "invite Chance [the Rapper] or Bruce Springsteen, depending on your taste, to come here and talk about how you can record music that has social commentary and meaning."

If you're familiar with Barack's presidential career at any point, this definitely isn't surprising news. After all, the former Commander-in-Chief had Jay Z help him out big time on his campaign trail back in 2008, and has since invited Chano and Common to a myriad events at the White House. In other words, Obama is down, possibly more so than any president was, ever.

So maybe Chano really will show up at Obama's studio once it's done being built. One place the rapper apparently won't be pulling up, though, is the spots for his tour dates in Europe. A few days ago, the Chi-Town superstar canceled the European portion of his tour.

“It is with regret that Chance the Rapper has to cancel his upcoming performance at Way Out West and his European festival tour in August,” a statement from Chance's team reads. “This is due to scheduling conflicts beyond his control. Chance sends his apologies to his fans and looks forward to returning to Europe soon.”

For his European fans, we hope the latter portion of the statement is true.
