The immortal 2Pac was posthumously inducted into the 2017 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last night (April 7), which included a hip-hop medley dedicated to the late rapper performed by Snoop Dogg, YG, T.I. and Treach.

Tip payed homage to the iconic MC by donning a very similar outfit to one Shakur famously wore 21 years ago. The look comes from 1996 The New York Times Magazine cover that 'Pac appeared on alongside Suge Knight and Snoop Dogg. Last night, the rappers hopped in the time machine and brought out Snoop and 'Pac's single, "Amerikas Most Wanted," backed by a live band.

In related news, Pharrell presented Nile Rodgers with the Musical Excellence award at the event. “Y’know, about five years ago I met up with the robots in Daft Punk to discuss recording a song together,” P said, while introducing the famous producer/guitarist. “They asked me what I was working on and I told them that I was ‘kind of in this Nile Rodgers place.’ And I remember they paused and kinda looked at each other and said, ‘This is what we want you to write to.’ And they played me the demo to the song that became ‘Get Lucky.’ And then there was Nile and his trusted Hitmaker Stratocaster laying down the signature rhythmic riffs.”

He continued, “It was also the first time I worked with Nile physically, but spiritually he’s been in the studio with me for more than 25 years.”

Hip-hop was well represented this year. Gene Simmons eat your heart out.

The induction ceremony will air on HBO Sat., April 29, at 8 p.m. EST.
