Big L and DJ Muggs’ work will be featured in Sony Music Entertainment and Legacy Recordings’ new urban catalog brand Certified Classics. The brand will begin their release schedule with exclusive vinyl records for the 2017 Record Store Day, which takes place this Saturday (April 22).

"The records of the classic hip-hop and contemporary R&B eras are bridges to the pop and youth cultures of the 21st century," Legacy Recordings President Adam Block said. "Certified Classics is proud to be making this music available to longtime fans of hip-hop culture while introducing these groundbreaking artists' albums and singles and the often incredible stories behind them to new generations of music lovers."

Legacy Recordings will release Big L’s Devil's Son (From the Vaults) EP on 12-inch for the first time in any official capacity. The vinyl will feature an instrumental version of Big L’s classic songs “Devil’s Son” as well as long-bootlegged tracks from the Lifestyles Ov Da Poor and Dangerous sessions.

DJ Muggs’ critically acclaimed compilation Soul Assassins Chapter 1 will be also rereleased on a 12-inch picture disc as part of the Record Store Day celebration. The memorable album featured the Cypress Hill producer collaborating with the likes of RZA, GZA, Goodie Mob, Dr. Dre, KRS-One, Mobb Deep, MC Eiht and Wyclef Jean.

The final Record Store Day release from Certified Classics is a Profile Records anthology. Dr. Jeckyll & Mr. Hyde, Rammelzee vs. K-Rob, Run-DMC and Dana Dane are a few of the notable artists included on the 2LP red vinyl.
