Atlanta's own Playboi Carti recently took time to pay tribute to the late great Mac Dre by recreating the Bay Area legend's California Livin album cover and posting it on Twitter. You can see Carti's 2017 revamp for yourself up top.

The "All These Hoes" rapper tweeted out the album cover recreation on Wednesday afternoon (March. 1) along with, "#MarchMadness #Season #Carti - tell a friend * rip Mac Dre."

If you're familiar with Mac Dre, then Carti's recreation definitely sends nostalgia running down your spine. In both photos, the rappers are reclining on a couch while surrounded by scantily clad women. The only real difference is the wardrobe and the fact that Carti is appears too busy smoking to look at the camera.

Playboi Carti is currently gearing up for a big 2017. Just last week, he was in the studio with Nav and Metro Boomin, and Metro seemed to tease the tape dropping soon. XXL recently caught up with Carti to discuss his plans for the future, and the rapper explained that he wanted to make a big impact with his new project.

“I just want niggas to look at it and say, ‘If this young nigga from Atlanta can do this, so can I.’ I want everybody to get money. My new mixtape is going to show niggas this is the way," he said at the time.

Carti still hasn't revealed a title for his mixtape, but it's supposed to be dropping this month.
