Though Meek Mill said in November that his DC 4.5 mixtape would be dropping "any day," months have passed since without any indication of release. As he did with DC 4, Meek is previewing tracks one snippet at a time via Instagram, posting a video Wednesday (Feb. 8) of himself in the studio as a new song plays.

The vibe of the song, included below, is somber and reflective, Meek rapping over a sped-up sample with a singer delivering the hook on what is potentially titled "Black Roses." On the track, Meek raps of Trayvon Martin and his own history of loss: "Skittles bouncing off the ground same time the blood drop/And they wondering why we killing, shit I wish we would stop/How the judge gon judge me, when love don’t love me/My cell is getting cold and my future looking ugly/The mailman coming on the first, them kids hungry/Mommy on crack, daddy dead, them kids lonely," he says.

Meek as well previewed a new track on Instagram last month, writing, "It's a must I strike again." The Philly rapper has had a change in relationship status since his last drop, he and Nicki Minaj calling it quits around the top of the year. More recently, Meek was spotted in Houston for Super Bowl 51, filming 21 Savage after the Falcons lost in overtime.

Check the latest preview below. In July, Meek said he would stop rapping about violence after DC4, and this new track confirms the change in direction.
