Update (Jan. 31, 10:50 a.m. EST):

Billboard is now reporting that Culture is slated to move closer to 100-120,000 units first week as they head to their first No. 1 slot on the Billboard 200 chart.

Original Story:

Migos dropped their album Culture last week to much fanfare, and according to Hits Daily Double, they are in the running for the No. 1 album in the country. Early projections have Culture moving 70,000 to 80,000 units in its first week, a substantial improvement over the numbers their debut album Yung Rich Nation did in 2015.

Likewise vying for the top spot will be Brantley Gilbert's album The Devil Don’t Sleep, which is expected to do similar work. The release of Culture signals a cresting Migos wave, which has as well included a petition for the group to replace Lady Gaga as this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show performer. That petition has gained support from over 50,000 people thus far.

Whether or not they claim the top spot on the Album 200 chart this week, Migos have been blazing a trail up the Hot 100, "Bad and Boujee" sitting at No. 1 in its 10th week on the chart. Last week, the group said that they deserve more respect for their contributions, musical or otherwise, Quavo saying, "We need the world to respect us. They consume a lot of hits and just act like it wasn’t… I ain’t never seen nobody make these many hits and not get notified for it. And change the game like we did and bring the flow to the game the way we did and not get noticed for it, like the the big way – the real system way."

Listen to Culture or buy it in stores now to help the crew secure more accolades and plaques.
