Lil Yachty is profiled in an MTV interactive cover story published today (Jan. 12) and included there within is the reveal that the rapper's debut album will be titled Teenage Emotions.

In the profile, Yachty says that the album isn't intended to convert detractors, though he hopes that it will lend him a bit more credibility. "My fans are so loyal and dedicated that I don’t care that much about winning people over, but I know it’s gonna change and people will eventually give my shit a chance, bro," he says. "That’s why I’m working so hard on this album, not to please other people but I'm just really trying, bro, to show people that like, I'm not just fucking bad!”

The piece as well covers the generational divide within hip-hop that Yachty has come to represent, particularly after claiming ignorance with respect to catalogs of The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac. There is mention of a potential Sailing Team compilation album as well, though that would expectedly drop after Yachty's debut.

In November, Yachty said of that debut, "Once I get off tour... we’re really just gonna lock in and just start completely fresh. So there’s no songs: we’re really just gonna make it in three or four weeks.” That was two months ago, so those three or four weeks taking place since is a reasonable guess, though recording is only one step in the process.
