For the second year running, Drake has been crowned as Spotfy's most streamed artist, a feat of particular note considering his ties to and participation with Apple Music. Thanks in large part to the success of Views and the reach of such singles as "One Dance," "Too Good" and "Childs Play," Drake totaled 4.7 billion Spotify streams this year, easily outpacing the 1.8 billion he racked in last year. Both figures help Drake top the all time Spotify leaderboard with 8.7 billion views in total.

In addition to topping the artist list, Drake ranks no. 1 in album and song streams as well, Views receiving 2.45 billion streams while "One Dance" was streamed 970 million times. “Drake has been unstoppable this year - he’s a true global superstar,” Stefan Blom, Spotify’s Chief Content & Chief Strategy Officer, said. "With the top album and the top song this year, as well as his successful Summer Sixteen tour, Drake continues to engage his fans in a way that only Drake can; it’s no surprise he is dominating the music industry.”

Rihanna and Kanye West as well made the top five most streamed artists list, ranking third and fifth, respectively. Despite a February release, Kanye's the Life of Pablo didn't hit all streaming services, Spotify included, until early April. Check some of the streaming leaders below.
