Donald Glover, otherwise known as Childish Gambino, won a Critics Choice Award Sunday night (Dec. 11) for his series Atlanta. Glover beat out Anthony Anderson (Black-ish), Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth), Bill Hader (Documentary Now), Patrick Stewart (Blunt Talk) and Jeffrey Tambor (Transparent) in winning Best Actor in a Comedy Series.

Watch Glover win and accept the award above. "I really was not expecting this because the category had so many really great actors I admire in it," he says. "I just want to thank FX for letting us do what we wanted to do and not being like ‘That’s nuts you can’t do that.' I really want to thank my brother Stephen for fulfilling the dream that I wanted to do a show with him since we were kids. I really want to thank my family…for just being amazing. It’s just great to work with people who just… no ego. There’s no divas. And I just really want to thank all the great television and the people who are making great stuff right now."

Atlanta lost Best Comedy Series to Silicon Valley, but that didn't stop Keith Stanfield, who plays Darius, a fan favorite, from crashing the stage. "I want to thank everybody for honoring us in this way. We worked very hard on Silicon Valley and here we are thank you," he says below.

Atlanta stands to win more hardware this award season as just this morning, the show has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy and Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy.
