This week's best songs feature a mix of veteran MCs, new stars and one interesting surprise. This blend makes for a unique lineup.

Kicking things off is Juelz Santana's posse cut "Ol Thang Back" featuring Method Man, Redman, Busta Rhymes and Jadakiss. The track is a throwback to the glory days of New York hip-hop and clear proof that none of these rappers are past their prime. The Funk Doc may have stolen the show with his verse.

“Doc doing the runnerman on Soul Train/With a chinese girl, the chicken get Lo Mein/Propane for the raw, I put her on the streets/My thoughts, the blue magic put on the beats/Game time, Doc rocket like Dominique/Straight vegetarian nigga and ignore the beef," Redman raps.

In one of the most unexpected colllaborations of the year, Dej Loaf and Kodak Black teamed up for a Christmas song. Dej celebrated the season with her song "All I Want for Chritmas," which will make Lil Kodak an unlikely addition to your holiday soundtrack.

While last week had the highest profile album releases of the month, today (Dec. 16) delivered some great LPs too. Mozzy and Trae Tha Truth joined forces for a collaborative project called Tapped In while Little Simz unleashed her sophomore effort Stillness in Wonderland. XXL decided to highlight these excellent albums by including standout records from each on our best songs playlist.

Last but not least is PnB Rock's latest creation, "New Day." The song comes from the Philly native's GTTM: Going Thru The Motions EP, which is scheduled to drop on Jan. 13.
