Update:

It looks like Top's Twitter demand was all it took to light a fire under Solo. It appears that Ab got the message loud and clear and hit the studio to put the finishing touches on his project. "Yo @dangerookipawaa headed to da stu wit @MixedByAli & @MoosaTDE right now...#DWTW,' he tweeted in response to the TDE CEO's push for him to turn in his album.

Original Story:

All the way back in May, Ab-Soul previewed music from his upcoming album and implied it would be dropping soon. "It's mixing and sample clearing time.... Y'all know Wut happens after that," he wrote in an Instagram post. Here we sit, six months later, and the album still seems no closer to seeing the light of day than where we were back in spring.

According to Top Dawg CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the blame is on Solo for the project still not being completed. He recently took to Twitter to vent his frustrations over the incomplete album after he was bombarded by questions about the project. "@abdashsoul & @MixedByAli holding up his album," he posted. "I'm done takin the blame... they need 2 get da mixes right.. that's the hold up. Get at them."

He followed that up by demanding that Ab have the project in by a certain time. "@abdashsoul @MixedByAli I just told my bosses (the fans) what the hold up is. Now I'm about 2 put my foot down. Have it done when I get back," he added.

So what's the deal? Back in February, Soul expressed his frustrations with waiting his turn on the TDE roster. “I’ll be ready when my #’s called,” the Black Lip Bastard tweeted. “This bench is gettin warm as fucc tho mayne.”

Now that it looks like it's his time to shine, it appears he's not showing and proving.

Soul hasn't been sitting dormant, however. In the last couple months, he's released the songs "Huey Knew" featuring Dash, and "Braille" featuring Bas.

Maybe Top's stance will light a fire under the rapper.
