Steven Victor, the Chief Operating Officer of G.O.O.D. Music, has been named the new senior vice president of A&R at the Universal Music Group, according to Billboard. The hip-hop executive will now be working with all the labels under the Universal banner, which include Def Jam Recordings, Interscope-Geffen-A&M, Republic Records and Capitol Music Group. Victor will report directly to Universal Music Group chairman and CEO Lucian Grainge.

"My ears are open, my heart is open, the doors are wide open," Victor said of his new gig. "And if [artists] have a great idea, we’ll help them actualize it."

Victor got his start in the music business by working in public relations at Interscope-Geffen-A&M. Victor spent six years there handling everyone from Jadakiss to Nelly Furtado.

The label executive made a name for himself as the longtime manager of Pusha T. Victor began working closely with Pusha T during the Clipse's memorable run. When Pusha T was named the president of G.O.O.D. Music, Victor quickly rose up to the rank of COO.

Victor's new job at the Universal Music Group will not put an end to his current duties either. The 36-year-old will continue to serve as the COO of G.O.O.D. Music going forward. He also plans to keep running his William Victor Management group, which maintains several major clients. Victor serves as the manager for Desiigner, Tyga, The-Dream and the aforementioned Pusha T.
