Things are not what they appear in Yelawolf's new music video for "Shadows." Released this week (Oct. 27) on YouTube, the somber visually finds the Slumerican rapper doing everything he can to cope with memories haunting him. While Nashville singer Joshua Hedley handles the eerie hook, the Alabama rapper laments about the mistakes he's made in the past. Yelawolf spends the majority of the video seeing shadows of memories of a little boy playing in the old, broken down house. Ultimately, instead of dealing with his past, Yelawolf decides to burn the whole place down. With a container of gasoline and a flick of his cigarette, the rapper sets the house ablaze before riding off on his Harley.

It seems fitting that the visual ends in arson given the fact that "Shadows" is the newest single from Yela's upcoming album Trial By Fire. Though there's no set release date for Trial By Fire yet, fans know it's definitely coming based on the new song and visual. Late last month, he shared an ode to alcohol with the track "Daylight," which is also expected to be on the upcoming LP.

While he's already on tour for Trial By Fire, Yelawolf dropped a 7-track EP called Hotel last week to keep his fans at bay. The only guest appearance on the EP is Slumerican signee Bubba Sparxxx on "Be Yourself". If you haven't Hotel yet, feel free to check it out here.

While the Slumerican imprint was only founded in 2012, Yelawolf has done a pretty good job of fill up his unorthodox roster recently. Three 6 Mafia's DJ Paul announced a partnership with Slumerican pack in August. Will DJ Paul give Yelawolf a guest verse on Trial By Fire? Only time will tell.
